"The adaptation of law firms to the new paradigm of AI" in debate at ECO

The growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in the legal world is an already undeniable path that entails transformations in the way law is practiced, especially in large business law firms. Disruptive technologies have been automating repetitive tasks, expanding access to legal services, thus leaving the focus of legal work to concentrate on more complex activities, achievable only with human knowledge.

While some positions in law firms may eventually be eliminated, AI is also likely to pave the way for the creation of new roles, such as risk managers tasked with overseeing the use of AI in the legal sphere or engineers with legal expertise capable of developing AI-based tools for legal purposes.

To talk about this topic, Advocatus and ECO bring together the managing partner of the largest national law firm, PLMJ, the co-managing partner of one of the largest Iberian law firms, based in Madrid but also with an office in Lisbon and the Chief Innovation Officer of Roox, a legal technology company with more than 30 years of experience and one of the most experienced in Portugal with a comprehensive range of services for law firms of any size, or even lawyers practicing alone.

Bruno Ferreira, managing partner of PLMJ, Rui Vaz, Chief Innovation Officer of ROOX and António Villacampa, managing partner of Uría Menéndez - Proença de Carvalho are the guests for the debate moderated by Filipa Ambrósio de Sousa, executive director of Advocatus.

The debate will take place on July 17th at 10.30am at the new studio ECO, located at Rua Joshua Benoliel, 6, 3ª C.

It will be attended live and will be released simultaneously.
